Instagram Rolls Out New Feature – Add Music to Your Profile

Add Music to instagram Profile feature

Instagram recently rolled out a brand new feature that will allow you to add music or songs to your Instagram profile. The key feature is a collaboration with singer Sabrina Carpenter, who released a preview of her latest song “Taste” on her Instagram account ahead of the launch of her next music album on Friday. Meta announced this new Instagram feature on their meta newsroom page.

How to Add a Song to Your Instagram Profile: A Few Steps

First please update your Instagram app and make sure you are using the latest version of it.

To add music to your Instagram profile, go to your profile section, top on  “Edit Profile” and find the title in Instagram’s music library,  like when you choose a song for Instagram Stories or Reels. You can tap on a section of the melody up to 30 seconds long song by swiping right or left. But unlike MySpace’s social media platform, the music does not automatically play when you visit someone’s Instagram profile.

You can also remove o change the music from your profile whenever you want it. Just by clicking on the song on your Instagram profile or by going back into “edit profile”.

Instagram has been experimenting and testing with music on profiles since 2022. This new feature aims to enhance the user profile visit experience by expressing their mood via song tastes. Instagram first let you add music to Stories back in 2018, and now they have leveled up! Last year, they made it possible to add music to your Notes and photo carousels too.
